Job Description

About the role:
BURN is seeking a Warehouse Officer in South Somalia to lead inventory planning and management, ensuring optimal stock levels and smooth logistics operations.

The role will manage the importation of finished goods from Kenya and coordinate the distribution of stock to regional wholesalers and distributors.

Additionally, the Warehouse Officer will act as a liaison between departments and produce performance reports for management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Planning & Management: Lead inventory planning and management efforts in the country; Follow and adhere to appropriate processes and procedures to optimize inventory levels and controls.
  • Inbound Logistics: Manage all clearing and importation of finished goods from Kenya.
  • Outbound Logistics: Ensure seamless transfer of stock from the central warehouse to the network of regional wholesalers and distributors.
  • Collaboration: Be an organizer and go between Finance, Admin, and other support functions.
  • Reporting: Produce analytical reports for the Management team on the performance of operations.

Skills and Experience:

  • 2+ years of warehouse & Inventory management and cargo operations experience.
  • 2+ years of Logistics experience, preferably in an environment of finished goods; parts and kits would be a plus
  • 1+ years’ experience importing goods into and working with customs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytic/number-crunching   background,   supported       by            excellent graphical presentation skills
  • Working relationships with a range of stakeholders inside the Customs
  • Diploma in Logistics or relevant experience.
