SRCS (Bisha Cas) is seeking a qualified candidates for the following positions;
Job Title: Bench worker (2 positions)
Grade: Band 2
Reporting to: Orthopedic workshop leader
Duty Station: SRCS Rehabiliation Centre, Hargeisa.
Posting Date: March 25, 2025.
Posting Expiry Date: March 31, 2025.
Contract Type: 1 year contract, possibly with an extension.
Overall Job Purpose
Under general supervision of the Head of the Department, the Bench worker will perform rectification assistance for prosthetic and orthotic devices by repairing, replacing, adjusting, simple modification as well as finishing cosmetics.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Technical Leadership, Program Planning & Implementation
§ To assist the technologist for the manufacturing of the orthopedic appliances.
§ To assist technologists for filling negative casts, smoothing of positive molds.
§ To fabricate the orthopedic appliances such as; material cutting by the right measurement, gluing, draping, bending bars, trimming and edge smoothing.
§ Assembling of prosthetic/orthotic components and bench alignment.
§ Complete manufacturing of Prosthesis and Orthosis before fitting to the client.
§ To replace or repair the worn-out part of orthopedic appliances.
§ Cosmetic finishing of devices before delivery.
§ Collaboration with the orthopedic team for problem solving and critical thinking issues.
§ Cooperate with all staff members in the center.
§ Obey the guidelines, rules, regulations and policies of SRCS.
Skills and qualifications
ü Must be a Somalilander citizen.
ü Age between 23 and 30 years.
ü Open to individuals with disabilities (both male and female).
ü Possession of a Secondary School Certificate.
ü Excellent academic performance in science subjects, including Mathematics, Biology, and Physics.
ü Proficiency in both written and spoken English.
ü Submission of a C.V. an Application Letter, and a copy of their Secondary School Certificate.
ü Demonstrated good conduct and socio-workmanship behavior.
ü Demonstrated of commitment and interest in SRCS humanitarian activities.
